Position Title: Regulatory Compliance Specialist

Job Description:

Madaster is seeking a highly skilled Regulatory Compliance Specialist to join our team and

support our mission of promoting sustainability and circular economy principles in the

construction industry. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of national

and international regulations, standards, and certifications relevant to the built

environment, with a focus on materials management, waste reduction, and sustainable

construction practices.

Responsibilities:

▪ Regulatory research and analysis: conduct thorough research to identify and analyse relevant regulations, standards, and certifications impacting the construction industry. Keep abreast of updates and changes to existing regulations and anticipate upcoming regulatory developments.

▪ Documentation and reporting: prepare comprehensive documentation summarizing regulatory requirements and their implications for Madaster's products and services. Collaborate with internal teams, including development and legal, to ensure alignment with regulatory standards.

▪ Functional requirements development: translate regulatory requirements into functional specifications and requirements for new features and functionalities within the Madaster platform. Work closely with the development team to ensure that regulatory compliance is integrated into the design and development process.

▪ Compliance monitoring and assurance: establish processes for monitoring compliance with relevant regulations and standards, both internally and among Madaster's clients. Develop audit procedures and quality assurance protocols to ensure ongoing compliance.

▪ Stakeholder engagement and education: serve as a subject matter expert on regulatory compliance issues, providing guidance and support to internal teams and external stakeholders. Conduct training sessions and workshops to enhance awareness and understanding of regulatory requirements.

▪ Strategic planning: collaborate with senior management to develop long-term strategies for maintaining compliance with evolving regulatory landscapes and driving innovation in sustainable construction practices.

Job requirements

Qualifications:

▪ Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, sustainability, engineering, law, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.

▪ Minimum of 5 years of experience in regulatory compliance, preferably in the construction or environmental sector.

Expert knowledge of national and international regulations, standards, and certifications related to sustainability, building materials, and waste management.

▪ Strong understanding of sustainable products and materials, including familiarity with Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodologies and principles.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and communicate them effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

▪ Experience in developing functional requirements and specifications for software development projects is highly desirable

▪ Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

▪ Proven track record of building collaborative relationships and driving cross functional initiatives within a team-oriented environment.

▪ Proficiency in relevant software tools and platforms for regulatory research and documentation.
